North Carolina’s Norma Dougherty Will Be Available to Sell and Sign Her Book “Island Girl, A Triumph of the Spirit” During the Barnes and Noble Event

CHARLOTTE NC- On February 25, 2017 You can support the Charlotte Writers’ Club at Barnes & Noble at the Arboretum Shopping Center. The BookFair features writers from The Charlotte Writers’ Club and takes place at three Charlotte Barnes and Noble stores. Norma Joyce Dougherty will make her appearance only at the Arboretum store from 1PM until 4PM Saturday. She will be reading excerpts from the book at 2:00 PM The event will include book signings by Dougherty and a number of other local authors as well.

Christian author Norma Joyce Dougherty was born and raised on Prince Edward Island in Canada. One of nine siblings, she chronicles her rise from a rural farm existence to Miss Dominion (Canadian equivalent to Miss USA). She competed at an International level in several major competitions but lost her self in the glamorous life of a beauty queen.

Struggling to find her true identity, she writes about the transition from jet-setting around the world to an inspirational speaker and author that focuses now on important women’s issues like personal identity and sex trafficking awareness. Teens will be particularly inspired by the “fairy tale” style account of her journey and her resolve to engage now with important current challenges like finding your identity in a personal relationship with Christ.
