EVEN IF

Do you have something you are hoping for? I do. 

Do you have something your heart yearns for? I do.

I think we all have those dreams for something we feel is missing in our lives. We all visualize what life would be like if we were able to achieve or acquire that dream. We strive toward its fulfillment, taking the necessary steps we believe will help us reach the goal. We focus on it till it becomes a healthy passion; or an unhealthy obsession. Then it fills our every waking thought and becomes our very breath. We even pray, asking God to help us fulfill the dream; and sometimes we even beg God for an answer. We believe if we want it or desire it, then it must be a need and therefore God has to provide. Right?

Have you ever been there? I have. 

And if we are not careful, this kind of yearning can weaken our faith. It takes our eyes off the Lord and places them on the dream/desire.

Two things I have learned while in this place:

• There are three answers to prayer: Yes, No and Wait. 
• And, make a decision before the prayer is answered. That is:

To accept God’s will or God’s answer whatever it might be.

The willingness to accept the outcome, whatever it is, allows us to walk through our desires and dreams with peace, contentment, faith and trust.
