Island Girl: A Triumph of the Spirit by Norma Joyce Dougherty recently adapted into a screenplay entitled Chasing Eden has been officially selected in three film festivals:
It is so exciting to see Chasing Eden by award-winning screenwriter Cheryl McKay receive these laurels, which only adds to the progression and interest the screenplay is receiving. In addition to the film festival selections, actress Madeline Carroll, known for the lead role in the box office hit, I Can Only Imagine, has signed a letter of intent to play a supporting role in the film. Further, Chasing Eden is now discussing a pending exclusive Producer Attachment Agreement with a firm in Atlanta, Georgia.
“I couldn’t be happier,” says Norma Joyce, “than to see my story become the inspiration for such a relatable faith-based movie as Chasing Eden.” The story is about overcoming identity crisis and the pursuit of perfection, while finding our true identity in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The storyline has great appeal to women and girls who are in today’s society constantly bombarded by social media and marketing campaigns to look, act and be a certain way just to fit in and feel accepted.
