I have been receiving messages from Facebook lately saying, “Your friends have not heard from you in awhile. You need to create a post.” They are right. I have been taking some time off to recover from the loss of my younger sister Rhea on December 30th and my husband Bill on February 23rd. Tough losses as I am sure some of you have experienced.
I had much on my heart to say, but it all seemed so very private; therefore, my lack of writing. I came “home” to Prince Edward Island to rest, relax, rejuvenate and refresh! And, I must say it has been wonderful.
This is a place where you not only receive the best and freshest foods such as strawberries, blueberries, garden vegetables, new potatoes, beef, chicken and seafood; it is also a place where you receive quality refreshment for your soul. The sunrises and sunsets are the most beautiful anywhere; the beaches, sand dunes and ocean are exquisite. The farmlands and rolling hills are expressions of God’s beauty. If you do not meet your Creator on Prince Edward Island, then you are truly missing the full joy of being on this special Island.
I have been fortunate to spend seven weeks here this summer. I’ve had fun with family and friends, deep sea fishing a few times and re-learning how to catch cod. Now everyone yells, “Kiss the Fish” when you catch one and it brings back that old joy. My rejuvenation is “almost” complete, but I know one thing, when I leave here I will take a piece of PEI back to North Carolina with me and I will move on to my favorite past-time; that is, sharing the love of Christ with others through speaking engagements and bible studies. God’s blessings to all.
